Published March 2, 2022

As hostilities in Ukraine continue to unfold on the news and social media, it can be difficult to know what to do to support those affected. Below are just a few ways you can help the people of Ukraine, from wherever you are.

UNICEF USA

UNICEF’s emergency interventions in Ukraine include providing health, hygiene, and education supplies; providing safe drinking water to conflict-affected areas; protecting children separated from their families; and working on the ground to provide emergency assistance.

Save the Children

Save the Children is providing “children and families with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and cash assistance,” per the organization’s website.

USA for UNHCR: The UN Refugee Agency

The organization said in a statement the “UNHCR is working with the authorities, UN and other partners in Ukraine and is ready to provide humanitarian assistance wherever necessary and possible.” Currently, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are matching donations up to $1 million as the organization works to provide aid and protect those fleeing the country.

CARE

CARE’s Ukraine Crisis Fund will be used to provide immediate aid such as food, water, hygiene kits, support services, and direct cash assistance. The fund is also prioritizing women and girls, families, and the elderly.
